HD studio mixer advice needed

I've just upgraded my edit suite to a Matrox Axio LE HD edit suite (Win XP based PC running Premiere Pro 2 and shortly CS3). I now find myself in the position of wanting to mix the output of the Axio card with the on-board PC audio to my old monitor speakers (Genelec 2029AL).

The Axio outputs up to 6 channels of balanced analogue audio (XLR), two streams of SD/HD SDI with embedded audio and 6 channels of AES/EBU.

I'm currently only producing stereo productions although may do a little 5.1 in the future (but not much).

As I was thinking about this, I thought that being able to properly monitor my other tape decks and DVD recorder might be nice (properly for the first time!!!). I currently have:

Sony DHR-1000UX DV deck
JVC HR-DVS1 miniDV/VHS deck
Sony DSR-25 DVCAM deck
Pioneer PRV-LX10 DVD recorder

I'll be going with a Sony XDCAM HD F-355 camera late summer.

So, I started looking at analogue mixing desks - Mackie and the cheaper Behringer Xenyx 2442FX but know very little about all this audio technology.

Is the analogue mixing desk solution right for me? What would you recommend? I liked the look of control surfaces but I know they don't yet work with Premiere. Of course I need the audio mixing anyway.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Paul.
