Aiff Files In Premiere Pro 1.5
I just downloaded a song to use and it's an AIFF... is there some secret to using it in premiere, because right now when I put it in, it just sounds like alien radio communications from Signs, or something... I'm going to try and convert it to wav... it won't play in anything else either...
any suggestions? |

It might be a damaged file (you downloaded it, right?) - according to Adobe techdocs aiff files are supported. See http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...9133&sliceId=1.

That's why I was so confused, because my book, and "Help" page say that premiere accepts aiff files. The only thing now is that it opens in Itunes, and quicktime just fine... so maybe I'll just burn it to CD and then rip it back through WMP....

Drm?
Oh, if it plays in iTunes, then it's probably a Digital Rights Management issue... it is not meant to play in anything else.

I don't think AIFF files can have DRM in them. You should be able to use any conversion program (including iTunes) to convert it to WAV or MP3, and see if it'll work in Premiere then.

the conversion program didn't work... I guess my only option is to put it on disc, and rip it back through WMP?? that's pretty easy

yesterday I downloaded an AIFF to WAV/MP3 conversion program, and it didn't work... however, I imported it into itunes, because I guess AIFF is a mac file...?? and it worked perfectly, so what I did... well first I just played it through itunes, and recorded it via audition, so that I could assemble my sequence, then today, I just burned the song to CD and then ripped it back through Windows Media Player as a WAV file... and the ripped song is WAY BETTER quality wise... like 500%... so if you run into this problem I would just do this...
