Premiere Won't Play Work Around/Solution
For those who have encountered the Premiere Pro "won't play" issue, (you hit the space bar or render out the previews and it won't play) I believe I have a very favorable and consistent work around. This issue seems to plague those who are working on very complex projects.
Solution, it's pretty simple and works most of the time for me. When Premiere won't play, simply hit "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" to bring up the windows security window that has Lock Computer, Log Off, Shut Down, etc. Click Task Manager. Once it opens simply close it with the x in the upper right hand corner. I often just hit ctrl-alt-delete and then click Cancel. It will take Premiere a few seconds to reload and then you should be good to go. I'm doing this about 1-2 times an hour but beats the heck out of restarting the project and/or rebooting. My guess is the issue has to do with Premiere's poor handling of memory. By switching the focus, the memory gets flushed. Kevin |
