Export HD?

I just shot a film and editted it using Premiere Pro 2.0. I editted without using Aspect HD either and it wasn't my best editting experience. Anyhow, I've exported it to .avi and it doesn't look too special. I might be wrong, but the movie appears to have lost it's HD-ness.

Is there a way to view my movie in HD? Will it look HD on a DVD? Do I need to watch it on an HD TV? Is there a way to export the tape back into my A1 while keeping it HD?

*lost*

Moved from Canon XH to World Premiere.

Please don't post NLE questions in the camera forums... thanks in advance,

Briefly .... normal DVDs are only standard definition.

To watch HD you need a HDTV, or a computer monitor or computer projector.

You can play HD off a computer harddrive, from tape off your camera, or from a BluRay disk or HD-DVD disk.

You can send video back to your camera via a firewire cable, but only in its original mpeg2 transport stream format (.mt2 files), not as an avi file.

Thanks Graham.

I've been having trouble exporting back to tape. I read somewhere that the A1 and Premiere 2.0 are having issues when it comes to that. Any ideas what I should do?

I export HD to a WMV-HD file that a Media Center PC could play out Component ports to a HDTV. I have a special DVD player that handles it, but it won't be long before HD DVD players are readily available at a reasonable price.
