Working with the A1's HDV
I went on vacation and shot about an hour worth of footage of various non-related things. In fact, there are probably about 80+ different clips I gathered of all sorts of things.
I captured all this footage and have one big .mpeg file as I captured the entire tape to one file. I want to cut the large video file into all the small clips (80+) so they can be of their own file so I can work with all this footage a lot easier later on down the road. My question is... is there any problems with cutting HDV video on the timeline? I've heard rumors that you destroy the GOP structure if you cut at the wrong frame, etc... Is this true or something I need to worry about? I use Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Also, if I want to resave all the small clips from the one big master clip, what format should I save it as so as not to lose any quality? I would like to maintain full quality and not lose anything in the resave. Any help or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. |
