Reverse Clips Jittery - Please help!
Hi all - I need to render a file quickly and am having a problem with 2 clips that are 50% slowed down and in reverse - jittering! They play fine when rendered on the timeline but I get this when exporting - to whatever format!
The only way that gets around it is to select 'frame blending' for the clips which works but makes them a little softer - not ideal The footage is 1920X1080 @ 50fps progressive on the timeline - exporting to 720 X 576 MPEG-2 interlaced Any help would be gratefully accepted :) |

Re: Reverse Clips Jittery - Please help!
That is what Frame Blending is for: clips with a speed <100%.
Why export to interlaced? FYI: Frame Blending in the Export Setting is used when export has a different framerate as the sequence setting.

Re: Reverse Clips Jittery - Please help!
Hi Ann - when I slow my clips down (I shoot everything at 50p) to 50% I never get any jitters and the footage is silky smooth - I never have to use frame blending. In this instance I am slowing down to 50% and reversing the footage (selecting 'reverse speed' in clip properties) and it's this that is introducing the jitters when exporting.

Re: Reverse Clips Jittery - Please help!
Not sure if this will work in Premiere as I edit in Edius but can you not change the frame rate in the clip properties from 50 to 25 and then drag it to the time line and apply the reverse motion when it's on the timeline? See if that solves any ghosting issues.

Re: Reverse Clips Jittery - Please help!
Nest the clip after you slowed down the speed and then apply reverse speed to that nest.
Try that.
