Re: Is Haswell-E ready for prime time?

I'd personally recommend the i7 5930k hexacore as a great upgrade for anyone using a dual or quad core CPU. $599 is a great price and those extra cores should really shine when it comes to encoding/rendering, etc.

However I'm not too sure about the i7 5960x 8 core. It's almost double the price of the 6 core, and you're sacrificing quite a bit of clock speed. I haven't seen any benchmarks yet but I doubt the performance increase over the 6 core would be worth the money .
