Using bits from a AE composition in Premiere
Hi There
I have recently made loads of changes to a Sequence in Premiere by utilising the 'replace with AE composition' link. I now want to take bits and pieces from my 40 minute AE composition in Premiere to create a 4 minute film as well. As it is all one big composition when it comes back in to Premiere I am finding it really difficult to cut from apart from splitting the AE composition and copying over what I need. Does anyone have a better way of doing this? Ideally I would like to use the footage once it has been in AE to save me from having to apply the same effects twice. Many thanks in advance Diana |

Re: Using bits from a AE composition in Premiere
The easy way might be to use in and out points and the "make subclip" function. This will create subclips without butchering up your main clip, or requiring any copying. You do this in the preview monitor. You can then use Project Manager function to make a file of just the subclips that you have created, if you wish, this step is optional. This is a non-destructive process, your master clip is not affected.
