Speedgrade CS6 questions

So I've been trying to learn Speedgrade here. So far, I'm very impressed at the depth that I can work on the color, exposure and other aspects of the video I shoot. It's a very deep program and can do some really wonderful stuff to my footage.

Now, I have a question, and it relates to CS6 (which I am still on).

When I send from Premiere to SG, it renders out every clip of video as its own video file. That I can deal with. However, it also renders every dissolve as a new clip as well. I've been having problems getting from one grade to the next, especially when there is a dissolve. In some cases, getting color from one setting to the next is tough, but the larger problem is that more often than not, I end up with a single frame at the end of the clip that is not in the new colors. I watch and suddenly, there is a flash of footage that doesn't match and then it goes on as expected.

Any suggestions about how to bring this great tool into my workflow?

Re: Speedgrade CS6 questions

I'm not sure what's happening in CS6, but with the latest update of CC you can send a sequence directly from PPro to SG, then after corrections, export the sequence back to PPro.
A HUGE improvement...
I might actually start using SG now :)

Re: Speedgrade CS6 questions

Actually a reason to consider moving to CC. In general, I'm very against paying rental/ransom on software that historically has been full of bugs. I've been looking to perhaps move off of Premiere, but the workflow and some of the tools that I can use integrate really well. Makes it really tough to do that.

But in the meantime, anybody use Speedgrade and know how to deal with this?
