Jerky 24Hz playback on 2nd Monitor
Hello all
I am using a Win7 PC to run Premiere CS5. I have a 60Hz display as my main monitor and an LG TV as my second monitor. For various reasons I am running the TV at 24Hz (through the settings in the nVidia Control Panel - I have a Quadro 4000 card). When I play my timeline in Premiere the playback is *sometimes* jerky and stuttery on the TV (and in the Premiere Program Monitor too). *Sometimes* it's not and plays smoothly - but then you pause it and start it again and it's all jerky again. If you set the Premiere program monitor to disable "Desktop Video Playback During Playback" so there's no picture in the Program Monitor is doesn't change anything - still jerky. Under normal circumstances if I run the TV at 60Hz I don't get the problem - I get smooth video playback continuously and my system is MORE than powerful enough to play this media without any jerkiness. If anyone can shed any light on this kind of issue it would be helpful! Thanks /ben |

If your TV is connected over HDMI, leave your TV in 60Hz mode and let the TV handle the display at 24P. It has dedicated hardware to handle that.
