Computer shuts down while rendering
Last night I was using my back up laptop for a pageant I filmed. Toshiba i7 Satallite A665 GeForce 330m 1 T external drive, P2 Cards.
Every time I rendered the entire workspace it would shut down. I know it's not the best laptop with a non supported card with latest driver but it would do ok and never shut down after about 15% I know its not much info but any ideas? Thanks Art |

Re: Computer shuts down while rendering
Most likely you're running hot and the CPU overheats and the system crashes at the kernel level.
I would do what the prior post says: blow out the dust. Laptops can suck up all sorts of things that can clog up their tiny little cooling system. You may even need to partially dismantle it. Alternatively, you can try forcing your application to run on only one core and thus reduce the amount of heat it'll generate at full throttle. Of course that will slow things down considerably. |

Re: Computer shuts down while rendering
Two Good thoughts, Thank you. I'll take the air to it and place it on a cooler pad and see what happens.
Thanks, Art |
