export keyframe rate - gop lenght

not sure what a good starting setting for this option is. Maybe it differs for different codecs, but lets say a common scenario is Quicktime H.264.

In the book "Compression for Great Video and Audio" by Ben Waggoner, it says "typical keyframe vaules vary wildly between formats and uses" and that "For the web, the GOP lengths are typically 1-10 seconds."

Maybe this has answered my question already, but at 24p sequence, with a keyframe every 10 seconds would result in a setting value of one keyframe every 240 frames. Does this seem right/average?
