Advice on render/preview settings for Premiere?
I run a MBP 2.2 i7 with 8 GBs of ram, and have been editing with premiere CS5.5 with lots of satisfaction in terms of quality and workflow. My only problem is the fact that I've been having to wait so long just to preview some clips. Lately it's been getting worse, like having to wait 20 mins just for a 7 min preview to render.
I feel like I must be missing something, such as a setting or preference, that would make everything go much faster. If there's any advice you can offer, I'd gladly take it. Oh, and if it helps, I edit 100% h.264 from the canon dslr line. With that said, however, I just shot with a RED Epic... but I don't even want to think about editing 5k until I can figure out this mess. |

Luke, Just went through the same thing with my system. Is your c drive a ssd? I got some extra drives to get the scratch disk on a raid 0. We'll see how much it improves things.
