Premiere Pro Effects/transitions
I have two Media Composer suites that I use to produce long form & spots, been an Avid guy since the 90's. Recently I began working with a client who needs simple spots produced over-nite. Very simple edits, why stay at the office late when I could be home with the kids? To that end, I finally opened up my Premiere Pro CS4 on my laptop that came with an Adobe bundle.
Thus far I've only edited one project on PP CS4- so my experience is very limited. It worked fine for the project, simple learning curve. However, one thing that strikes me is how bad the transitions are. A cross dissolve looks good, and a few others. But many are unusable- what is with that page turn? For the experienced user- is there a common plug in that I should be purchasing or is there something Im missing? Thanks for your thoughts. |

Re: Premiere Pro Effects/transitions
What kind of transition effects are you looking for?
The only transitions I use from Adobe are cross dissolves, and dip to white/black. Additive dissolve can be useful, but isnt as good as FCPs Flashframe. I dont know of any reason to use page turn and I dont even really know what it looks like... |

Re: Premiere Pro Effects/transitions
Justin, save your time the page turn is DREADFUL. I agree, most of the stuff we use on our Avids are dissolves with occasional soft edge wipes to bring in a title.
Really dont know what Im looking for....more of a 'this is it?' Thought. |
