PPRO: Method to auto-update/change lower thirds?
Is there a way to automatically change, update , swap out lower thirds at specific intervals during a long video? I shoot Sunday services for my church, and have the speaker's name appear, then the message title. For the last five years, I've been doing this manually by scrubbing through, and pasting every five minute or so. It works okay but I'd like to have a more elegant solution to work with.
My lower-thirds have been made in Photoshop (animated PSDs) or still PNG files. I'm on Premiere Pro for Mac -- I don't have access to LiveType or Boris :-( |

I use the "replace with item in bin" command. Still have to scrub through the timeline though.

This is one of those things that I wish Adobe included that FCP has... master templates.
I know of no methods other than manually going through the timeline and changing them out. |

Re: PPRO: Method to auto-update/change lower thirds?
Hi Ted,
I have an untried theory - create a "title template", meaning a blank sequence except having your titles in place spaced every 5 minutes. Use this as the starting point each week, but do "Save As" to give it a new name each week. In this project, create a New Sequence for the actual video of the current service, then bring in the "title template" as a nested sequence on a higher overlay track. Seems like that should work Jeff Pulera Safe Harbor Computers
