Premeire 5.5 & mov file problem
Hello.
When I import D7000 file ( MOV) they import but will not play inthe source monitor. I get a green screen in the source monitor when I click on the MOV file in the project panel. I just installed cs5.5 upgrade and new compatible graffics card. ( I posted this question yesterday however I feel I can better describe it now. -- not sure but cs5 worked before. Then I installed the graffics card and upgrade at the same time. I 'm not sure which could be the problem ? Any thoughts on how to make this work ? Thanks in advance, Eric Kovacs |

Re: Premeire 5.5 & mov file problem
Have you tried updating QuickTime? I have found that that will solve most MOV related problems.
You need to completely uninstall your old QT, restart your computer, install the newest version of QT, restart again, and then open Premiere and try your MOV clip again. Hope that helps. |

I tried updating Quicktime. Same problem.
I get a red x at the bottom of the screen where premeire conforms the video. Clicking on the red x gives an error message : an unspecified error message a conform action on the following file. |

Ok. Is there a way to automate the renaming process ?

Found it. Adobe Bridge. Select all and Batch rename changing file extension to .mpg

Re: Premeire 5.5 & mov file problem
I wonder if the "change the extension" solution works only in 5.5; in my CS4, my D7000 clips play back just fine as .mov files, but with the exension changed, PPro fails to import them, saying the .mpg file is corrupt. (the .mpg plays back just fine in VLC, btw.) I am also still on Quicktime 7.6, incidentally, having found that every time I update Quicktime, something breaks. Leaving well enough alone, I get a yellow line and good playback from both 720 and 1080 .mov files...I see in GSpot that they are using the avc1 H.264 codec, if anybody needs that info....
