50fps Sequence settings
Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I can't seem to work out the best way of setting up a project in PP CS5 for Canon MXF files at 1080i shot at 50 frames per second.
The Sequence settings box has a list that says 1080i25 (50i). On the description is says for video 25 fps. So I guess that one is no good? What is the (50i) bit for? If I make my own custom setting do I just have to select 50 fps from the time base dropdown list? Andy S |

Re: 50fps Sequence settings
Are you sure your footage is actually 1080 and 50 progressive frames per second? Canon XF cameras do not shoot that frame rate at 1080. For PAL, 1080 would be 50 fields (25 frames), whereas progressive 50 fps would be 720p (1280x720 pixels).

Re: 50fps Sequence settings
Sorry my mistake (too tired to concentrate!) I meant 1920x1080 @ 50i. and yeah in PAL.
Full spec list here http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Prod...x.aspx?specs=1 ie 50Mbps: 1920 x 1080/50i, 25p; 1280 x 720/50p, 25p; etc etc Andy S |

Basically, if you see 25i written, read it to mean 50i. |
