Capturing Sony HDV footage (Z5U settings??)
I'm trying to capture HDV footage for the first time using a Sony Z5U shot on tape. I shot using 1080i, and have set my cameras VCR settings to HDV & iLink settings to HDV. Also I changed Adobe CS4 capture settings to HDV as well. All I'm getting is a black screen saying "Capture Device Not Found"??
Anyone know what I need to change or what's causing this? Thanks, |

Re: Capturing Sony HDV footage (Z5U settings??)
Nevermind, I think I got it. My PC has 2 firewire jacks & for some reason only one plays my camera, the other does not. I also shut the PC and camera off as well, after I made the changes. One of these events caused it to work. I still can't see the footage import, unless I look on my cameras viewfinder. I've been told & read to download HDVsplit for that. I'll check it out, thanks.

Premiere does not display HDV footage when you capture. It never did. It actually tells you to look at your device's screen when capturing.
