post workflow advice
recording clean DSLR footage from my 5D with an Atomos NINJA, they are ProRes HQ files, 1080 60i.
Final output will be for a feature and hopeful distribution, theatrical, BlueRay, DVD, Streaming should I just use these files as they are for everything? IE editing, audio, FX, Green screen, etc, and render whatever format is required at the end. or use Cineform to do a pulldown and deinterlace prior to all this. or some other workflow suggestions? thanks for your advice in advance jh |

Re: post workflow advice
I assume you're aiming at 1080p24? I guess you could have shot it in 24p in the first place, but since it's already done, the optimal workflow would be:
1. Edit in 1080i60, output to 1080i60, do the pulldown and resizing from the 1080i60 final master. Or 2. Use Cineform for pulldown, edit in 1080p24, export in 1080p24, do all the resizing from 1080p24 final master. I would check with a single clip which gives you better results, since Cineform adds a layer of compression to ProRes (should not be noticeable though).
