Need Opinon from the Pros on System
Ready to order this today to run CS5.5. I am trying to stay away from anything Western Digital because of many past negative experiences. Quiet is important to me.
Appreciate comments. Coolermaster HF932 COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RSA00-AMBAJ3-US 1000W ASUS P6X58D-E MOB I7 970 CPU Corsair Dominator 24GB Ram (4X6) Corsair H70 Cooler Geforce GTX 480 SuperClocked 1536MB Zalman VF3000F Video Card Cooler Seagate Barracuda 2T 7200 X 3 Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit |

If you get stuck on anything, I may be able to help. I just built a system (for the first time ever), and learned a lot along the way. It's really not as hard as you may think.

Finished my System Build with No Error Beeps
Took my time because it has been quite a while since I built from scratch. But it all turned out extremely well and have Premiere Pro CS5.5 loaded ready to edit.
Coolermaster HAF932 Advanced case is heavy but well built with an intelligent layout. COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RSA00-AMBAJ3-US 1000W Great Quiet Power supply but I learned that I needed to install it last. ASUS P6X58D-E MOB A well layed out board with extremely good directions. I7 970 CPU I have a friend with a 980 and our numbers are the same and I saved $400. Corsair Dominator 24GB Ram (4X6) No instructions on where to put the ram fans but an Internet video provided the solution. The fans need to be tightened above the ram so they don't slip off. Corsair H70 Cooler The H70 was the most difficult install. Placing the pump onto the CPU needs two people and directions must be followed. I should have installed the back plate before putting the MOB in the HAF932. I used both of the H70 fans and installed the speed limiters that limit sound without heating the CPU. Geforce GTX 480 SuperClocked 1536MB Quiet. Zalman VF3000F Video Card Cooler Returning the Zalman. I purchased it to cool the video card but you don't need it. The other negative with the Zalman is that you must take the video card\Zalman out of the computer if you wish to move it as per Zalman instructions. Seagate Barracuda 2T 7200 X 3 I have always loved these HD's and I now have four. Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit This is a bit of a learning curve from my XP. I really want to thank all those wonderful people that made videos on their system build. |

How much did your system cost you? I'm flirting with the idea of building a new system. I've been using the same one since 2006.

Re: Need Opinon from the Pros on System
$2500 for parts from Newegg. I had been using a 2008 Dell XPS which is now my CS3 backup Computer. Amazingly fast with CS5.5 and Windows 7.
The trick for me was taking lots of time during the process. PS My good friend purchased a Dell Alienware which lacks many of my components and he paid $4400. |

Re: Need Opinon from the Pros on System
When it comes to high end systems, building your own will ALWAYS be cheaper than having one built for you. Your system looks great!
To the other poster, I'd not waste money on SSD's yet... the price/performance isn't there yet. Instead take that money and invest it in an extra drive for your video data raid... |
