Beware - found an audio bug
version 5.0.3
I had a xdcam HQ 25p sequence which had three audio tracks, two mono and one stereo. The two mono tracks were from camera footage (sony ex1 xdcam), the first one with audio from a lav and the second one contained audio from the external mic on the camera. Both tracks had eq and dynamics and the second (ext mic) track had multiband compressor too. The Master track had dynamics which had a limiter to catch the peaks. that sequence played and exported fine but when nested inside another sequence with the same settings I noticed a problem after exporting, the two mono tracks from the above sequence were out of sync (not much, few miliseconds but it was noticable!). The stereo audio track on which the nested sequence was placed had no effects and the second sequence had a dynamics plugin on the master too with just a limiter enabled and catching peaks. It's interesting that the playback showed no evidence of a problem until I rendered audio. It's the multiband dynamics plugin that caused the misalignment, after it was removed from the first sequence, the second one rendered and exported correctly. |
