Encore Button Routing

As a relative newby to the Adobe suite I'm taking a lot of time watching tutorials and getting to know it as well as possible, I'm also going through the effort of creating templates I will use over and over again for projects in Encore. These include my standard chapter menus.

Since I don't like the way Encore auto routes the buttons (and there seems no way to fix this based solely on the layer order of the photoshop file) I'm creating manual button routing.

Is there any way to save this routing as a preset because I have to re-do it every project and for every menu (so if there are 8 menus they all need doing separately). Saving a user present would save a lot of work because I want the routing to be the same on every chapter menu page. Arrgghh!

No, unfortunately there is no way to save any custom button routing in Encore, nor is it any way to set up the layers in Ps so they route in pre defined way. This very feature is one i really would like to see in Encore.

However, if you go to Edit > Preferences > Menus there are some options for Button Routing that can be very useful. I just finished a big project and after playing around with that preference setting i found a setting that reqiured almost no manual routing compare to the default setting that required tons on manual routing on the same menues. Use that preference setting and find the one that gives you less manual routing of the buttons.

Wow, Roger, I had no idea those preferences existed! Thanks for pointing that out. That will save me some button routing time. I always thought the Encore default was terrible.
