Mov files in CS4 problems

When editing my 5D II mov. files in CS4 they are very choppy until rendered, is there a way to avoid this?

Wondering if CS5 is better.

I am using a Quad Core Intel Mac with 12 GB of ram

5D MKII Files cut like butter in CS5. In fact, it was designed for this and other tapeless formats. Well worth the upgrade. Keep in mind that you need a 64 bit OS (Windows 7, etc.) in order to run it. Get qualified NVIDIA video card for best performance. More info here.
