First CS4 Project Edit Question
I'd sure appreciate some help with this.
I have two 1080p @ 30 fps video sources and one 720x480 @ 30fps source. I want to put all three of them into my one project to output on NTSC DVD. I will edit the three tracks together as needed. Should I select the CS4 beginning Sequence Preset: HDV 1080p 30 OR should I use : DV-NTSC Widescreen as the project preset (default)...... Since it is all going to a 720x480 DVD anyway, tell if this is the best way to go. Or will it not make any difference. Any other suggestions would be good. I have so much to learn. Thanks |

IMO you would probably want to edit the project as SD 720x480 WS.
When you have mixed rez footage like this it's typically best to scale the project to the lowest rez footage. Otherwise, if you blow the 480 clip up to 1080, then scale it down again to 480 DVD, it's not going to look very good.

Robert,
Thanks again. This is the second time you have come up with an excellent answer to one of my questions. I do appreciate your suggestion(s), and your explanation makes sense. Regards, Tom B. |

You're welcome... actually, it's thanks to DVInfo.
