Arched text in AFX
hi guys, well this is a bit embarrassing,
how can you curve some text around a shield? not round a world, Universal style, I can do that, lol, just around a police shield. been playing with this for half hour and cant get it.

I usually build that sort of graphic in Photoshop (you can type text on curves, etc.), then import the elements into AE. There may be a way to do it in AE, but it's certainly easy in PS :)

Hi Gerald. With your text layer selected draw a path with your pen tool (or copy/paste the path if you have one already). Twirl open your text layer and in Path Options select the mask - you can also align it etc. Hope that helps.

thanks guys,
yeah worked it out shortly after posting, tried the pen tool, but ended up going with creating a shape mask and using that as a text path. worked perfect. amazing though, i thought i was going alright with AFX, and then BAM! feel like a newb again! lol
