Laaaaaaaag

Hi,

I just reformatted and installed windows xp pro, last week.
installed cs4 again too.

Was working fine in Premiere until today. Its all laggy and so is after effects. I twiddled with memory preferences etc. I have never seen it so laggy. So much so I cant work. Wasted a whole day trying things. I only have 2gb ram but it was never laggy before. And beside I AM JUST PUTTING SLIDESHOW OF PHOTOS TOGETHER, NOT EVEN MAD BIG FOOTAGE OR ANYTHING.
Any ideas what I could try?

Sincerely,

Brian.

Ah, I sorted it.

The photos I was using were 3500 pixels wide and there was about 100 of them in the slideshow. I batch resized them in photoshop down to comp size 720x576 and its not laggy anymore.
