After effects - animation preset
Hi...
I'm kind a new to AE, and I'm trying to animate some titles in it... i'm trying to use disolve effect on a title, but when I apply preset to title the whole footage gets that effect. I know it's probably very basic thing, but I've tried to find an answer for about an hour now, and didn't find any apropriate in tutorials ect. thank you for your time and help |

You want Video Copilot, the BEST AE website around. Turorials, free presets, an informative forum, and great products. watch his Basic Training before you do anything else.
The simple answer to your question is to keyframe the effect. Simply hit the stopwatch beside the items you are changing. |

You can animate the dissolve yourself using opacity keyframes.
Click on the title in your timline the hit 'T' to bring up the transparency properties. Hit the stopwatch to enable keyframes. Place two keyframes and then change the values of one to 0%, leave the other at 100% and then move the keyframes around to adjust the speed of the fade in/out. |
