Premiere Pro cs5 slow autosave

Hi All:
I've tried searching for my answer but no luck. I have a large wedding project I'm working on In CS5. I realize that when you are working on large project things slow down abit. I've tried setting the the Autosave to 30 minutes that helps alittle however when I save the ptoject prior to exiting it takes forever to save. Is there anything I can do to speed things up? I guess I could have opened a seperate project for each part of the wedding like say one for the ceremony, one for the reception, etc, etc. That way they would also load faster and save faster. All thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Harry

Harry,
Have you noticed a corresponding jump in file size when the slow save issue pops up? If so, check out this post in the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 forum:

Adobe Forums: problem with Premiere Pro CS5 project...

According to this post, Adobe is aware of the issue and a fix is in the works for the next update.

When the file bloat / slow save issue happens to me, I create a new project file and then import sequences from my bloated file into the new project. This workaround seems to work for me until Adobe releases the next update to fix this bug.

HTH,
Drew

Premiere Pro CS5 slow Autosave

Drew and David:
Thanks so much for your replied. I read both articles and as stated several times I deleted the preview files and removed unused files in the project. That made world of difference. Looking forward to the next update. The work-a-rounds are alittle extra work but well worth the effort. BTW where are the seq files located if I have to import them?
Thanks again.

Glad to help, Harry. To import sequences into a new project:

1) Create a new project
2) File > Import > (select the old .prproj file)

You'll see a pop up window where you can import the entire project or selected sequences.

Beware if the project is large to begin with it will take ages for the sequences to appear, there isnt status windows telling you its doing something so just wait. It will appear after a while.

David And Drew:
Thanks again for your replies. Big, big, help. I'm still amazed how fast it's preforming once the Preview files were deleted.
Thanks Again
