Editing training
I am looking for resources to learn how to do more advanced editing. It seems the stuff I have found online has been more of a "how to use the software" tutorial. I know how to use the software, I don't need more training on that. Any ideas on online sites, user groups, online courses, etc that might be useful?
Thanks. Craig Bakersfield, CA |

What do you mean by 'advanced editing'? Do you mean: 1) more effects, motion graphics and such? or 2) advanced editing principles that apply to any NLE?
For #2, there is a great class at fxphd.com "EDT202 - The Edit", which I am taking. Its based on editing principles and theory. For #1, I would look into learning AE, which fxphd has many amazing classes each semester. I am taking one (AE211 - The Open) that is based on creating an opening sequence for a reality TV show, taught by an AE artist who has done several TV shows himself. Also, for #1, search for Final Cut tutorials. KenStone.net has many and most if not all can be done in Premiere. |

I agree with Craig....
Lot's of "How to's" in Premiere Pro, but not much advanced tutorials for experienced users.. |
