Upgrading to HD

Hello guys,

I'm doing wedding videos and this season is my first one when I'm offering HD support to my customers. I have two Sony FX1000 cameras (HDV format) and Canon 7D which I purchased very recently.

I was editing some test footage out of 7D and noticed that it's not being played smoothly - clearly I'm lacking "horse power". I have no problems with editing HDV though. How would you suggest handling Canon's files?

BTW: I'm currently running CS4 on Intel Quad Core and Win XP. Do you think it's time to move onto 64-bit OS? Or can I still squeeze some juice out of my old PC?

Thx for help.
