OnLocation CS3 not seeing JVC HD 250U
Just installed OnLocation CS3 on my laptop.
I hooked up a JVC 250 to the laptop, and OnLocation doesn't see it. It's 13394 output is set to hdv. The camera doesn't show up 'Devices'. The camera communicates with my desktop talking to Adobe PPro CS3 fine. I'm using version 3.0.1095.0 |

It sees the camera in DV mode, but not in HDV.
I know that's normal in the trial version, but my version is registered, bought and paid for. |

Does the computer see the camera in HDV mode? (Can you see it as a device in "My Computer" when you have it connected and powered on?)

Bit of an update. I was using the gadget that stops the power from going into the firewire port on the camera (I'm completely blanking on the correct name).
When I take that out, and carefully power down both camera and laptop, then re-start. When I do this, OnLocation sees the camera in HDV mode. BUT - the Digital Video Recorder function is grayed out. Not available. No idea why. It's not the trial version. |
