You have to explain a little more - what kind of package are you talking about? There's no audio sync problem with premiere - the real problems could be with the material you are importing being out of sync, but I'm guessing that what you mean is that on the screen, it looks in sync but plays back with the audio lagging behind? If this is the case, then almost certainly the snag is not with the editing software, but in the audio card and drivers your computer is using. It's quite common to find windows is using the generic basic drivers for the audio card - these often have enough latency for the audio to be maybe 12-18 frames behind. The usual thing is to check the web for updates for the drivers for your particular setup. Sometimes there are weird ASIO and Direct X drivers that will have far better, and not noticable latency. On one of my systems here, the machine annoyingly defaults to a driver with 50ms latency, when the real driver runs around 5-6ms. Reverting to this driver locks everything solid. It seems a quirk with my USB system. Hot plugging a device in, seems to trigger the reversion to the windows generic driver. I can't remove it as it's needed for one particular programme I use.
Do you want to give us a little more to go on? |
