Where to put data cache?

Howdy,

I have 3 Sata disk in a system: First disk is 160 Gigs for windows and programs; second disk is 1 Tera is for the media (video clips, graphics, texts, etc...); Third disk (1 Tera) is for final output (the renders go to this disk).

My question is in what disk should I point for premiere media cache files/databases/encore media for best performance?

Thanks.

Media cache would probably be best placed on disk 2, unless you have a custom to hardly ever render your timeline, then disk 3 would be good.

In general make sure that you spread the disk reading and writing across as many disks as you have.

Hello Harm,

Thanks for the reply...I don't know if I understood your reply all trough. I do render the timeline, I edit (all the media is located in second disk) the project and when done I render the project to output the rendered file into third disk. So then, if I'm write you sugest to put the media cache in third disk (final output)? I this right?

Can I do something else to improve performance with what I have?

Thanks
