Shortcuts implemented for 4:3 & 16:9 aspect ratio
By popular demand, DV Rack Upgrade #3 provides a quick and easy way to switch the pixel aspect ratio of the Field Monitor to 4:3 or 16:9. The keyboard shortcut for 4:3 is F8. For 16:9 it's CTRL+F8.
Among several bug fixes also in this upgrade is one relating to activation that may have been involved in the problems that Danny Fye reported above. As noted in another thread on this forum, this upgrade is now available free to registered owners of the product by selecting Check for Updates in the program's file menu.

Donie,
Another much more authoritative member of the Serious Magic team addressed the Mac issue in another thread on this forum entitled "DV Rack - very nice if it works as advertized," which was initiated way back on May 9, 2004. I'll wisely defer to his reply to the question "Is there a Mac version of DV Rack?": "Unfortunately not, DV Rack makes extensive use of Microsoft’s DirectShow technology which is only available on Windows itself at this time. Serious Magic does not currently expect to be able to port DV Rack to the Mac platform. Fortunately, laptop PCs are quite inexpensive and DV Rack is designed to work in a multi-platform environment. It supports writing files that are compatible with popular Mac software such as Final Cut Pro, Avid and Media 100." _____________ To DV Rack's credit, several Mac devotees have become so enamored of this program that they bought a PC laptop or desktop exclusively to run DV Rack. If you have access to a PC, I urge you to try the free, full-featured trial version. You, too, might find that it's valuable enough to justify investing not only in the program but also in a computer on which to run it.
