video stopping due to usb mouse?
have a vista 64 core i7 running 12 gigs of ram on premiere 4.1 and when i am previewing a series of edited clips, my computer makes the mouse usb disconnect and reconnect sound and stops the play. everything is running amazing except for this annoying thing... especially when i am showing a client and it keeps stopping every 5 seconds. anyone have any ideas?

You can try a PS2 mouse, and see if it still happens.

Bad mouse connection? What happens if you use just the keyboard?

I've had exactly the same problem. I tried updating the mouse drivers, as well as changing the USB port.
In the end, I found out that was an intermittent break in the mouse cable near to the mouse itself, where the cable had been bending... |

using the keyboard or my shuttle xpress no matter what i am playing it keeps stopping. the only thing is its a wireless usb. i thought it would be a distance thing with the dongle but that didnt help and its the second keyboard tried.

Wireless doesn`t always play nice with time-critical applications, including editing apps. Avoid wireless keyboards and mice (mouses? :))
