Trouble importing Sony EX files
I'm using Premiere CS3 to edit DV and HDV currently. I'm trying to test EX files in .MP4 format in Premiere. When I try to import a clip, Premiere returns a import error saying "unsupported file type." This is a XDCAM EX project within Premiere. I found a document from Adobe stating that this is a known issue and the workaround is to change the extension from .MP4 to .MPG or import the entire bin containing the .MP4's. I tried changing the extension with no luck and the test clips I've downloaded are .MP4's only with no bin available.
Does anyone have any insight into this issue? Does this happen in CS4? |

I think you need to use clip browser to export SxS files to MXF first

You can import these files directly as long as you still have the files in the BAV folder.

?
Well, you could drag the files to your folder in Windows Explorer, and then use Adobe Bridge to drag em into Premiere Pro.
There are several more options . . . |

I downloaded the files online so I don't have the BAV folder, just the .mp4. It's strange that we need the BAV folder before Premiere will import these files. Does CS4 behave the same way?
