Vista 64 Pro or Windows 7?
I'm looking to make the switch from FCS to Premiere and from a Mac to a PC, but was wondering if I should go with Vista 64 Pro or wait for Windows 7?
Any suggestions? |

I'm actually doing both next week -- three partitions and a triple boot system to try them all out.
All reports are that Windows 7 is very fast, but does not solve the many stability issues qwith Premiere. Reports are mixed in Vista 64. Lots of threads about this in this forum. |

Vista 64 Pro - simply because it is a proven entity. It is my default OS - I wouldn't use anything else right now. I also wouldn't go with Windows 7 because it is a beta and, if previous beta programs are anything to go by, will be quite different than the RTM version, be unupgradable and likely expire after 180 days. If you do want to go with 7, install it on a separate partition - and don't expect support from Adobe...

I'm betting that this whole Windows 7 shakedown should be done in a year or so from now. Adobe users will probably have to wait for CS5 until "official" support comes from Adobe for 7.
