Windows Vista CS3 sluggish and slow try Windows Server 2008
Hi I have a couple of computers although my editing one was 3.2Ghz E8500 Core2Duo 4GB RAM 8800GTX 786MB Vista Home Premium with cs3. I was finding it was slower than my P4 3.6GHz 1GB RAM XP machine with CS2 after 2 reformats of my vista machine I thought i would try Windows Server 2008 64-bit because I guy at work said it run supposedly 20% quicker. It now screams along the splash screen are up for less than a second rather than 1 minute. I can even RDP from my other computer and it works fine. Granted I know how to setup a windows server but if you are none technical it still works fine out of the box and you can add Desktop Experience and it will work exactly like a normal Deskop with regards to Media. I got the 60 day trial that you can extend but Ive already ordered my license.

Wow, that is intriguing, thanks for sharing. After reviewing some articles, and the $999 price, while the advantages seem interesting the pitfalls seem numerous as well. For the money, I would personally feel better waiting for Windows 7, which is garnering rave reviews already.
I am glad you are having success with it. Keep us posted. |
