A basic premier cs3 question
I have edited my 1st wedding in cs3. I have lots of gaps in my timeline. How do I link all the audio and video together so I can slide them closer together in the timeline. I hope Im stating my question clearly enough to make sense...Thanks in advance!!!! Added as edit...... There are two timelines and two audio timelines with splices and I would like to move them all together in one move

Place your mouse between two clips that have space between them, right click, and choose ripple delete. That will remove the space and shift all track to remove the space. I don't think there is a way to do this to all the spaces at once, you have to do them one at a time.
I hope this is what you were asking for. |

That is what Im asking, however it isnt working. It either wont highlight the ripple delete or if it does, it moves it just a few frames pauses then sets it back to the original spot

Do all tracks have a gap where you are trying to move them, or is there just a gap in one of the tracks that you are trying to move? If you try to ripple delete a track that has a gap, but is above or below other video or audio that does not have a gap it won't work in most cases.

To link audio and video select the audio and video file that you want to link and right click one of them; then click link.
If there are still gaps...zoom in a far as you can and see if the audio or video is 1ms too long or something

If I understand your position correctly, ripple delete may not be the best solution if you have multiple tracks, because if there is sufficient room for ripple delete to work on one track it may cause the other track to be out of position. An alternative is to group a number of clips, even on different tracks and move them in a simple drag and drop to another position. To group clips, just hold the shift key while dragging with the mouse a box around the clips you want grouped together and then right click and choose group.
With ripple delete, take care that tracks you do not want to move are locked before ripple deleting. |
