Elements 4.0 shuts down pc when exporting
Using Elements 4.0 on pc in PAL country to download and edit tapes from XL2 and/or HV20 I download Ok but after editing a 13Gb file by <50% I can't persuade Elements 4.0 to see the "export to movie" through. My computer simply and suddenly shuts down after rendering a few Gigs. I have tried it with nothing else running. I have tried both DV & HDV settings with HV20 output. I may have messed settings but how do I find default? And if that's not my problem what is?
C drive has 20Gb to spare; E: has 120 to spare; F: has 70 to spare. All relevant help badly needed, please. |

Looks like either a temperature or PS problem as the most likely candidates, or other hardware problems. Can you check with Speedfan what your system is doing while encoding in terms of voltages and temperatures?

You got me rethinking, Harm.
It seems my F: Drive was getting overloaded. 9 X 12Gb files were just too much to manage when free space on that drive was down to 14%. It may have been overheating as well but I did nothing about that except to start editing from cold this morning and as each file was replaced by edited version the pc found the next project easier to render. And I did find the way to bring up default settings, which may have tidied things up as well. Now all projects have been rendered without a blip. I'm not exactly sure how the problem disappeared but thanks for the help. |
