Sound & Graphics Cards for CS3/Premiere/After Effects?
I'm putting together a new much with a quad processor.
I am going to be running XP. What is a good sound card for CS3. I was going to use an E-MU card, but the Adobe website that E-MU is not supported. So what is a good ASIO2 card under $250? Also, I was going to get an nVidia GeForce 8800GT video card for the moment. This is listed on the Adobe site as approved. Is this a good choice for a card in this price range? (256mb, $200) Thank you! |

If you want to accelerate 3D stuff in Aftereffects, then a Quadro rather than a GeForce would be preferable.
I use a cheap 7600GS with fanless heat sink - it works fine, and in fact I understand the 7-series has better overlay support than the 8- series. |

Thank you K.C. and Graham.
Have gone with a GeForce for the time being. For sound will use an M-Audio 24/96. Will only be doing basic editing for the web at this time. Can upgrade if getting into more AfterEffects 3D and HD editing. |
