A few Premier Pro CS3 Questions
I am still very new to film and video and have used Vegas a little but since I use Bridge and Photoshop CS3 every day in my photography business I wanted to give premier a try. I like it but confused about a few things.
In the presets, in HD it doesnt offer a 24f option, only 25f, anything special I need to know about setting up a custom profile? Also when I capture in Premier, it makes a Mpeg movie. In vegas it makes many clips that you put together, is one way better than the other? Also many places in Premier the defaults are to PAL, and we do not use that is there a way to change the default or as you change each section will it remember that? Thanks |

The PAL defaults are probably only there because you chose a 25f project. There should be a way to use 24f, but I don't use Canon camcorders, so I am not certain of the specifics.
There is a scene detect option in the capture window, near the bottom, but I personally don't like it. I prefer the single big file Tape1.mpg for most purposes, although there are advantages to breaking it up as well.

I think there might be something in the latest CS3 update that could help.
