PPro2 16:9 footage exports in 4:3
Hi I recently shot some footage on a Z1 in 16:9 mode. I then took the tape home, imported with a small 4:3 Handycam, and sent it to PPro 2.0 for editing. I used the "interpret footage" option to reconvert the footage to widescreen. When I exported to AVI, Premiere exported in 720x576 (isn't this widescreen) but when I playback the exported movie it is squeezed the footage to 4:3. Tried playing in Nero and it managed to keep the widescreen format. Any idea why?
If you're wondering, these are my system specs (pretty bad, I know): Dell Latitude D600 1.6Ghz Intel Pentium M 1024x768 MOBILITY RADEON Windows XP Pro SP2 |

Hello? Someone? This is somewhat urgent. The video played at an event on a MacBook and the video was squished to 4:3!

Thanks for the reply, Herman. I have been pondering over this solution for quite some time and finally decided to face the (usually) 2-hour-long export again. It actually exports much faster now!
