CS3 External component monitor with Quadro FX-560 at DVinfo.net

I just installed PP 3.0.1 and have a Nvidia Quadro FX-560 and I can't see how to activate the component video output for an external monitor. I figured out that I couldn't do this with 1.5, but on another system it works fine with PP 2.0 (that is using a Matrox Parhelia). What am I missing?

The Parhelia can drive 3 monitors simulataneously, whereas the Quadro can drive only two simultaneously (even though it has 3 outputs).

So if you already have a dual-screen setup (it's not clear from your post if you do or don't) that would be a definte show-stopper.

Thank you very much for your reply and advice. I do know that, and only have one widescreen computer monitor. I have the Nvidia software set up for one computer monitor and one TV. In Avid Xpress Pro, the TV works very well as it should. I just can't find the right button to push in CS3 to do the same thing.

Tip, I'm not at my editing computer presently, but it's possible that it's settings in the NVidia driver panel that you need to adjust, rather than in CS3 itself. Check that you have settings that direct "full screen video" to your second monitor, which should be being detected as a composite video source with 1080i and 720p options.

Setup the component out as a secondary display in DUALVIEW mode. Once that is working,, open CS3.

In the "Project Settings->Playback Settings" dialogue box, there is a drop down for external output, usually including 1394, and any other monitors.

Thank you very much for your response. I've done this and it works brilliantly. The one thing I might add is that you to get into the TV Wizard in the Nvidia set-up and set the resolution for what you're planning on using.

Then that is what will appear in the dialog box choice you describe, so it does work for HD or SD, provided you do the TV Wizard thang first.
