Hey there,
Just wondering about downconversion with the A1 and CS3. I downconvert HDV to SD in the camera on the way into CS3, but the famous red line pops up above the timeline for that footage, which of course means...time to render. Am I missing something here? Thanks all Jay |

DId you capture in DV then? If so, that should be realtime in a DV project. Might want to double check all of your settings. Did you shoot in 24f mode? If so, that might throw a wrench in the system. Not sure how that is handled in camera for the downconvert.

yep,
24f. I figured that would be ok. Perhaps not. One other thing about 24f. Does it even work with CS3? My heart breaks today because I ingested some really great stuff yesterday thinking CS3 would be updated because CS2 was. It appears as though anything brought in 24f sits as 29.97 on the timeline which in turn creates ghosting. Any suggestion? |

Try downloading the updated template files for 2.0 from Adobe, and paste them into the appropriate CS3 folders. That is only for HDV though. I have no idea how your camera will handle DV captures. Possibly 29.97 with pulldown? Any reason you are trying to edit in DV when you shot 24?
