Big trouble with Premiere 6.5 project help please
Hi to every one I am really in BIG trouble.
I made a DVD production for a big company and all was well and ready to export the whole project. This made with Storm RT (Canopus) Also installed is Xplode pro 4 and used some effect from this (3D) Now when I open the project all is fine but in the middle of the export Premiere just stops and after reboot also the same problem. What ever I did nothing helped, tried System restore, uninstall and install again but all the trouble is the same. Is there any way to recover a project saved? In advance thank all to you for any suggestion, Peter |

UPDATE:
What I did is; removed all the transitions in the timeline. After that placed them again and its now exported... Strange any way that from a healthy project suddenly the project is broken with the transitions. Would like to know why it happened so we might learn something after over 25 years in broadcasting ;) |

Hi Peter
I currently use 6.5 with a Storm (soon to upgrade to CS3/Matrox Axio!) and I gave up using the Xplode effects - I found them unreliable and they would randomly crash... Hope this helps. Graham |

Sorry to hear of your trouble. I have been using P6.5 for a few years & basically love it. Only problem it is very unreliable, crashes constantly so now I am trying to get my head around Vegas 7 ASAP.
However, I don't want to tell you to " how to suck eggs " as you're probably way ahead of me, but have you gone into Premiere archive - probably on your C drive to see if you can find a previously saved version of your project before it crashed, at least you may be able to recover most of it, - just a thought. P6.5 being an older program was around before XP was released and I wonder if this is part of the problems with it. Only 3 days ago I made a rolling credit in P6.5 as I couldn't fathom how to it quickly do it in Vegas and even just before I finished this 1 minute project, Premiere crashed ! Good luck Ron. |
