Upgrading from Premiere 6.5
Hi All
I'm after some advice. I've been using Premiere 6.5 with a DV Storm card for about 5 years and it's been great. However, P6.5 is lokking a bit dated(!) and some of the new features in PP CS3 look attractive so I'm thinking of upgrading. As I've used the Storm virtually everything is realtime, and for my business this is essential as clients often sit in on the edit and waiting for renders is not acceptable (except for very complex stuff!) Anyhow, I've looked at the Matrox products Axio and RT-X2 and they look suitable, but I don't want to upgrade to an unreliable system, prone to crashing etc. Despite having some PC experience, I will buy a complete turnkey solution from a specialist company in the UK (probably DVC - http://www.dvc.uk.com ) and will have a demo before buying (as I did with the Storm). This was worth its wait in gold before, and probably avoided many potential unreliability pitfalls! The system needs to be reasonably upgradable to cope with new formats etc.. Any comments or thoughts? Many thanks Graham |
