PMWTD300 Sample Footage?
Can anyone provide a few seconds of raw, XDCAM or a high-quality transcode (e.g. ProRes or Cineform) output from the Sony PMW-TD300? We're trying to decide if we should buy one as a B-cam to our Scarlet rig. We're especially interested to see if the TD-300 is a substantial improvement in indoor lighting over the Panny Z10Ks that we're using now as B cams.
I can provide an FTP site for upload, if that is convenient. Thank you, David Cole Next3D |

Re: PMWTD300 Sample Footage?
David, I have used both of these cameras, (own the Z10000 & 3DA1 (3DA1 is for sale)) and I have to say that the Sony TD300 with it's 1/2" chip is a big improvement over both of the Panasonics. I recently finished a project in Australia where I was using the TD300 in some VFX editing suites where the lighting is low and I wanted to maintain that low light look. The TD300 turned in some beautiful footage in that environment, vs the Z10000 which I tried to use as a B-cam but it's noise level in these rooms was too noticable.
Overall, the TD300 is a vast improvement over any other single lens 3D cameras, and I've used them all. I do really like using the Z10000 for outdoor or well lit shots. I don't have any footage since the project was for 20th Century Fox and they own the footage. |

Thank you for the insight, Bruce! I think we'll rent a TD300 as needed until NAB... as the project is threatening to go 4K on us!
