odd Sony TD10 exposure control , defective unit?
I have purchased a used TD10, and noticed that it has manual exposure control in 3d mode. Great ! but mine only lets me turn the brightness down with the knob, it never goes the other direction ( brighter ).
The knob does work in both directions when set to control focus however, so it's not like the knob is electrically defective. Can someone tell me if my unit is bad, or do they all do this ? Does the same thing in 2d mode. Maybe some other mode combo is causing this effect, I don't know. Help! Last edited by Les Dit; September 13th, 2011 at 10:50 PM. Reason: spelling |

It should work in both directions. It may be that the camera already has the exposure set to max, only allowing you to lower exposure.
If that's not the case I'd contact Sony. |

Re: odd Sony TD10 exposure control , defective unit?
I tried it outside in bright light, still the same, only decreases the exposure.
Maybe this camera has old firmware ? I guess I have to contact Sony. I also noticed the front knobs menue list only goes down in selections, I have to hit bottom and 'reset' to choose from the top again when selecting the knob function. The knob does work both ways in focus mode, leading me to believe the firmware is old, perhaps pre-production buggy. Thanks for the reply. |

Update: A full camera reset ( via the little button ) fixed the problem.
