Name your current top five 360 cams under $1000
There's a lot to choose from, but I'm seeing a top five list shaping up like this (in no particular order):
Yi 360 Insta360 ONE Ricoh Theta V Garmin VIRB 360 ...and what...? Not seeing much love for the Kodak PixPro Orbit360, Nikon KeyMission 360, or GoPro Fusion, but I'd love to be shown otherwise. Thanks in advance. |

I have the Ricoh Theta V and have been generally thrilled with it.
Excellent software (mobile and desktop apps for Windows and Mac). Frequent updates-improvements from Ricoh. Excellent 4K video quality (in my opinion). I love the form factor (which helps the excellent stitching) and the spatial audio is a big plus. The price is good. Downside? No microSD slot. Once you fill it up, you have to offload the thing before recording some more. (I guess one could just buy a second Theta). The spatial audio really sells the 360 recording and experience for me. |

6x Yi 4K action cameras in a 3D printed mount.
6x Z Cam E1 (would go a little outside the $1K budget though). Z CAM S1 (double your budget, but worth considering) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...2855/KBID/3801

Insta360 One X
you can find a lot about it online Many reviewers consider it better than the GoPro Fusion. Joe |

GoPro Fusion
A very straightforward camera to work with. 18MP stills 5.2k-30fps 3k-60fps Spatial audio, can convert to stereo in Fusion Studio. A very clever stabilization system - the camera collects stabilization data at the time of recording, but the actual stabilization is done in the Fusion Studio stitching software. Waterproof to 15’ Needs two matched Micro-SD cards. I have no experience with the Insta360 One X to compare. But, the Insta360 Pro 8k is outstanding (with a price to match).
